Founded in 1961 by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé, the house stands as one of France’s most iconic fashion maisons. Yves defined modern fashion for over four decades until his retirement in 2002, earning the title of “the emperor of style.” The archive was revived in 2015 under former creative director Hedi Slimane, and today its legacy continues under Anthony Vaccarello, appointed in 2016.
